My name is Erin Isla (pronounced eye-la) Roman, and thank you for visiting my website! I am currently studying Graphic Design with a concentration in Nature Culture Sustainability Studies at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where I will be graduating in 2023. Under the "Galleries" tab is a compilation of 8+ years worth of work, so please enjoy. For any commissions or inquiries, I can be reached under the "Contact" tab.
My mind is a cache of daydreams, constantly wondering about everything and nothing. Ephemeral ideas flit across my brain, and I can’t help but go off on tangents as my musings form an incoherent dialogue between my ears. The smallest things trigger my mind, and I am constantly jotting down ideas before they lose form. My favorite part of the day is the beautifully delirious moment right before sleep washes over me because this is when my mind wanders best: suspended between consciousness and unconsciousness. I am forever following these innate impulses, and currently, they have led me down a new pathway: the synthesis of environmental science and art. The amalgamation of these two disparate subjects has always felt like background noise to me, humming quietly in my subconsciousness. This faint murmur only recently became a harmonious thought when I realized that I could utilize art to expressenvironmental concerns. I am in the process of developing this idea, and my current creations are simply an introduction. In the future, I hope my work inspires viewers to think about their impact on our Earth, and maybe even make a little change.
